Announcements

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Monthly General Meetings

Our General Meetings are held in person and on Zoom the 3rd Monday of each month, September through May.  “Social Hour” begins at 6:30 PM followed by the evening's program at 7 PM.  After the presentation, the meeting concludes with a Q&A session with the speaker.  The in-person meetings are held at the Selby Garden Downtown Campus (1534 Mound Street, Sarasota, FL 34236).  Please register in advance for Zoom.

Field Trips

There's now something happening at least once a month.  Whether it's an educational tour, informal hike, or to advocate, Serenoa is getting out into the community.  Some trips have limited availability.  Register online in advance to confirm your spot.  Please wear appropriate clothing, pack trail snacks and bring water.  Details and directions will be emailed to registrants as the trip date approaches.

Non-Members of FNPS may join us, but we encourage you to become a member.

Information:

  • There is no charge for the walk
  • All attendees will be required to sign a waiver.
  • We will start walking on time, so please do not expect the group to wait for you.
  • If you plan to cancel for any reason, please use meetup to do so.
  • If we have to cancel the hike for any reason, we will attempt to let you know by 9 pm the day before the hike.
  • The hike will be 1-3 miles long over moderate terrain. Sometimes, it is extremely wet, so please wear appropriate shoes. If you do not think you can hike that distance, please let us know.
  • Please make us aware of any health issues you or anyone in your party may have.
  • Perhaps the biggest issue on the hike is dehydration from heat, wind and exercise. This can create all kinds of physical problems: dizziness, nausea, fainting. We REQUIRE that everyone on the hike bring and drink their own water: at least one liter.
  • We recommend long pants and long-sleeved shirts for sun and/or weather

Executive Board Meetings
